Best cards for points transfers

Move points to airlines and hotels when that beats paying cash.

Advertiser disclosure: Fareroo is independent. Card links marked Partner are affiliate links: if you click and are approved, Fareroo may earn a commission from the issuer or an affiliate network, at no cost to you. That compensation may affect which cards appear on this page and in what order. Unmarked card links go straight to the issuer's official page and earn us nothing. We don't cover every card on the market. Card details below were checked on the issuers' official pages on October 22, 2026. Terms, fees and offers change often, so always read the issuer's current terms before you apply.

Transferable points are the most flexible kind: you can move them to an airline or hotel program when an award seat or room is worth more than the cash price. Transfers are usually one-way and final, so only transfer once you've found the award you want.

Points or cash? A quick check

  1. Find the cash fare on Fareroo.
  2. Find the award price (points + taxes) in the partner program.
  3. Divide (cash fare − award taxes) by the points needed. That's what each point is worth on this trip.
  4. If that's low, pay cash and save points for an expensive trip.

Questions people ask

Are point transfers reversible?

Generally no. Once points move to an airline or hotel program, that program's rules apply. Capital One, for example, says that once transfers are final, the receiving loyalty program's terms apply.

Which card has the most transfer partners?

Partner lists change. On the pages we checked: Bilt lists 28 partners, Amex lists 20 for the Gold Card, Capital One says 15+ for Venture X, and Chase lists 14 for Sapphire Preferred.

Not financial advice. Fareroo is a travel-deals site, not a financial adviser, bank or lender. This page is general information to help you compare options; it doesn't consider your finances. A credit card only pays off if you pay the balance in full every month: interest and fees can quickly cost more than any rewards. Approval and terms are decided by the issuer. Never open a card just to chase a bonus you can't earn with normal spending.
